1 A Little History
Today, in the first few years of the new millennium, we are spoilt for choice when it comes to music and audio software – whether for Mac or PC. You can buy MIDI sequencers, score-writers, audio waveform editors, multi-track audio recording, editing and mixing packages and virtual studios that fully integrate MIDI + audio + signal processing + virtual instruments.
I’ll make this as brief and to the point as I can, but I do think that it will help you to understand everything better if you know something of how all this came about.
