ENERGY INDEPENDENCE: CHINA TAKING THE LEAD

Introduction

In the era of fossil fuels, coal has been called “the food for industry,” and oil “the blood of industry.” To gain their “food” and “blood,” Western powers manipulated geopolitics and waged world wars and energy wars.

In today’s world, the US has a predominant say in worldwide energy politics, while China, the second largest importer and consumer of energy, needs to import 61% of the oil it uses. How can China get rid of the geopolitical constraints, achieve energy independence and ensure energy security while continuing to “rise peacefully”?

War is by no means an option. In the new round of energy revolution, the world will choose China, who will choose PV.
