About the Author

Bill Dodson is the author of China Inside Out: 10 Irreversible Trends Re-shaping China and Its Relationship with the World (John Wiley & Sons, 2011).

Bill has been writing and advising on China’s business and economics issues and managing companies in China, since 2002. He has been quoted on China-related topics on Bloomberg.com, and in Newsweek magazine, The Economist, National Public Radio, China Economic Review, Shanghai Business Review, China International Business Magazine, The China Economic Quarterly, Monocle, and others.

He has published nearly 100 articles in international magazines on China’s industry and consumer trends.

A graduate of Cornell University, he has served as a columnist for the China Economic Review, and produced a monthly China business management column for Eurobiz Magazine, a publication of various European companies invested in China. A former senior consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers, he has also served as a senior adviser to Bearing Point. He is a frequent speaker on economics and investment trends in China. He has advised executive management teams at Global 500 companies such as Ford Motor Company, Electrolux, and TOTAL—the French energy group—on China economic and consumer trends. He also regularly lectures at executive MBA programs from around the world on the trends shaping China’s economy and business climate.

He lives in greater Shanghai.
