Obesity in children and adolescents is a unique and complex public health concern. Multiple global and national programs have invested significant resources into strategizing around this problem. For example, the World Health Organization has a report on recommendations to end global childhood obesity by focusing on the child’s right to health, government leadership, and policies in schools, agriculture, and trade (World Health Organization 2016a).
