Introduction

1. Women’s Studies has to be recognized as a critical input and support for several other policy thrusts that are already being promoted by the UGC; such as promotion of Human Rights, Population Education, Adult Education, Science for the People etc. and to the induction of extension as the third dimension of university activities.

2. Women’s studies by its very nature and objectives will be a powerful motivator and provide content for all these above mentioned activities.
