Glossary

A method: Any modus operandi, technique, or process developed by the individual actor that will assist in the work of the actor.

Actions: Psychological, subtextual doings expressed in actable verbs that motivate behavior on a moment-to-moment basis and that are pursued in order to accomplish the continuing pursuit of the scene need.

Activity: The physical movement involved in the accomplishment of work, tasks, exercise, amusement etc., such as ironing a shirt, combing one’s hair, or typing at a computer.

AD: Assistant Director

Antagonist: The character who stands in the way of the forward motion of the throughline and/or prevents or impedes the protagonist’s journey to the conclusion.
