Preface

Change is fundamental to everything in life. Whether it involves learning how to walk or stepping into the role of chief executive officer of a company, change defines every aspect of human beings' lives. Because of the central role that change plays in life, you'd think that everyone would be a master of it by adulthood. To the contrary, although most people survive the changes thrust upon them—or those they bring upon themselves—all those lessons learned are somehow forgotten when it's time to lead change in their own organizations.
