Since the earliest days of computing, the industry has been heading progressively toward a convergence of social networks and games. Games have always been a social experience, and as game designer Greg Costikyan noted in his 1994 article, “I Have No Words and I Must Design,” solo player games are a temporary aberration in the historical norm.[1] Once technology reached a certain point, people would be gaming together again.
