Chapter 8. Work Management 173 8.7 Reporting downtime Downtime is for verifying how much time was necessary for an asset to be down in order for maintenance procedures to be performed. IBM Maximo Asset Management provides an action to report asset downtime in the Assets application and in the Work Order Tracking application. The two methods to report asset downtime are: Set the asset status from UP to DOWN, and from DOWN to UP. With this information, IBM Maximo Asset Management can calculate the time that the asset was down. Report the start and end time of the downtime for the asset after it has occurred.
