Chapter Nine. Negotiating a New Flexstyle and a Life That Works on Your Terms

 

I work in the main office from 8:00 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. Then I have dinner, watch the news, and then around 9:00 p.m., I head to my home office, where I spend the next two to three hours responding by e-mail to customers’ requests for technical support. My company does not pay overtime for professionals even though the work I have to do takes much longer than 40 hours. I don’t mind because I have been getting promoted, but I am beginning to wonder whether there is more to life than just work. I am just not sure how to begin to negotiate a different way of living.
