When I got out of graduate school, I joined a big Fortune 500 firm and was lucky enough to land a job near my husband’s graduate program in the East. Then it was his turn, and he took at job on the West Coast, and for a while my employer was more than happy to let me work virtually after we moved to Seattle since I was a top performer. That was great for my husband and me in our early years of marriage. I was working from home, and he was establishing his career.
