Open Shortest Path First (OSPF).

Link-state, hierarchical IGP routing algorithm proposed as a successor to RIP in the Internet community. OSPF features include least-cost routing, multipath routing, and load balancing. OSPF was derived from an early version of the Intermediate System–to–Intermediate System (IS-IS) Protocol.

PAT mode.

A mode used on a concentrator where all the devices behind that concentrator have their IP addresses translated to the IP address of the outside interface of the VPN 3002 Hardware Client. This is the opposite of LAN Extension mode.

In the context of this book, a router, firewall, VPN concentrator, or other device that participates in IPSec.
