Chapter 10. Routing

On completion of this chapter, you will be able to perform the following tasks:

  • Explain the routing functionality of the PIX Firewall.

  • Configure the PIX Firewall to work with Open Shortest Path First (OSPF).

  • Configure the PIX Firewall to work with Routing Information Protocol (RIP).

  • Configure the PIX Firewall to forward multicast traffic.

Although the PIX Firewall is not a router, it does have certain routing capabilities and supports two routing protocols.
