Just as the Cisco switches are responsible for redirecting the web browser traffic to the centralized portal(s), the Cisco WLC must do the same thing. As stated in the introduction to this chapter, you are expected to have already configured the WLC as per Chapter 12.
In Chapter 12, you created an open WLAN with MAC filtering enabled and the NAC state configured for Radius NAC. Additionally, you created an Access List named ACL-WEBAUTH-REDIRECT.
At the time of writing this book, the latest version of the Cisco WLC was 7.6 MR3. As of that version, the Cisco WLC could redirect only HTTP traffic. HTTPS redirections were not possible but were expected in a future release.
