About the Author
Gary Halleen is a security consulting systems engineer and has been at Cisco for more than ten years. Gary is the author of the Cisco Press book, Security Monitoring with Cisco Security MARS, and was technical editor for Intrusion Prevention Fundamentals. He is a regular speaker at Cisco Live, both in the United States and internationally. Prior to working at Cisco, he wrote web-based teaching software, owned an Internet service provider, taught computer science courses, and worked in Information Technology at a college. His diligence resulted in the first successful computer crimes conviction in the state of Oregon. Gary lives in Salem, Oregon, with his wife and children.
