Understanding IP SLA Concepts

IP SLA uses the concept of an operation. Each operation defines a type of packet that the router will generate, the destination and source address, and other characteristics of the packet. The configuration includes settings about the time of day when the router should be sending the packets in a particular operation, the types of statistics that should be gathered, and how often the router should send the packets. Also, you can configure a router with multiple operations of different types.
