Bridge Mode

In bridge mode, the ACE acts as a Layer 2 device, where it performs bridging of traffic between client-side and server-side VLANs. In bridge mode topology, ACE client-side and server-side VLANs are on the same subnet, and the server default gateway is an upstream router. In this mode, VIP is also from the same subnet as servers. Because ACE is in the path, all the traffic from the server-side VLAN to the upstream router traverses through ACE. If there are servers sitting on the server-side VLAN for which load balancing is not required, the traffic still goes through the ACE.
