One Unified System

Simply said, a computer server is a set of resources needed to process or execute a set of defined tasks/jobs and produce a result. A Unified Computing System (UCS) is a collection of such computer servers that no longer is tied to a chassis boundary. This system is wired once to networks (for data, management access) and to central storage to boot and/or store file/block level data. LAN and SAN connectivity is set up on a system-by-system basis and does not require the administrator to redo it when a new computer server is added to the infrastructure.
