Dynamic Virtual Fibre Channel Interfaces

Dynamic FCoE enables you to dynamically create virtual Fibre Channel (vFC) interfaces and instantiate them as Inter-Switch Links with port type VE_Port. These interfaces represent the point-to-point virtual links between the Cisco FabricPath FCoE leaf nodes. The process is as follows:

1. Every FCoE Fibre Channel Forwarder leaf node is uniquely identified by a global FCF-MAC address.

2. Every FCoE Fibre Channel Forwarder leaf node floods an FIP unsolicited multicast discovery advertisement to ALL-FCF MAC address.
