Dedicated Wire Versus Unified Wire

While servers leverage unified wire to run both network and storage traffic over a single physical cable toward the access layer switches, at the time of writing this book, multihop FCoE connectivity leverages a dedicated wire approach, where network and FCoE storage traffic are carried over separate physical links between access and aggregation layer switches.
