FCoE and Cascading Fabric Extender Topologies
So far, we discussed solutions for delivering scale-out FCoE deployment leveraging either Cisco Nexus 2000 Series FCoE Fabric Extenders or the Server Fabric Extenders in the form of Adapter-FEX. As mentioned earlier, these two solutions are not mutually exclusive, and they can be leveraged at the same time in a cascading fashion. Cisco Nexus 5500 switches enable the choice of topology for connecting FCoE servers with the Adapter-FEX feature through the Cisco Nexus 2000 Series FCoE Fabric Extenders.
