The Cisco MDS 9222i provides multilayer and multiprotocol functions in a compact three-rack-unit (3RU) form factor. It provides 18 fixed 4-Gbps Fibre Channel ports and 4 fixed Gigabit Ethernet ports for Fibre Channel over IP (FCIP) and Small Computer System Interface over IP (iSCSI) storage services. The Cisco MDS 9222i is designed to address the needs of medium-sized and large enterprises with a wide range of SAN capabilities.
