Cisco MDS Multilayer Directors
Cisco MDS 9500 and 9700 Series Multilayer Directors are (SAN) switches designed for deployment in large, scalable enterprise clouds. They share the same operating system and management interface with Cisco Nexus data center switches. They enable seamless deployment of unified fabrics with high-performance Fibre Channel, FICON, and FCoE connectivity to achieve low total cost of ownership (TCO). Figure 7-11 portrays the Cisco MDS 9000 Director switches since year 2002, and Table 7-4 explains the models.
