Remote Monitoring

Remote Monitoring (RMON) is an industry standard remote network monitoring specification, developed by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF). RMON allows various network console systems and agents to exchange network-monitoring data. The Cisco NX-OS supports RMON alarms, events, and logs to monitor a Cisco Nexus device. In a Cisco Nexus switch, RMON is disabled by default, and no events or alarms are configured. You can enable RMON and configure your alarms and events by using the CLI or an SNMP-based network management station.
