In-Service Software Upgrade
Each Nexus switch is shipped with the Cisco NX-OS software. After installing the Nexus switch and putting it into production, a time might come when you have to upgrade the NX-OS software to address the software defects or to add new features to the switch. The software upgrade of a switch in the data center should not have any impact on availability of services. ISSUs enable a network operator to upgrade NX-OS software without disrupting the operation of the switch.
