What Is Port Channel?

As you learned in the previous section, data center network topology is built using multiple switches. These switches are connected to each other using physical network links. When you connect two devices using multiple physical links, you can group these links to form a logical bundle. The two devices connected via this logical group of ports see it as a single, big network pipe between the two devices. This logical group is called EtherChannel, or port channel, and physical interfaces participating in this group are called member ports of the group.
