Conversational Learning

FabricPath switches learn MAC addresses selectively, allowing a significant reduction in the size of the MAC address table. This selective MAC address learning is based on bidirectional conversation of end hosts; therefore, it is called conversational learning. In a FabricPath switch, FabricPath VLANs use conversational MAC address learning, and classic Ethernet VLANs use traditional MAC address learning.
