NX-OS Version and Other Reload Facts

To finish this first chapter about how Cisco NX-OS works, with the NX-OS CLI, this last topic looks at the switch show version command.

When a switch loads the NX-OS, it must do many tasks. The NX-OS software itself must be loaded into RAM. The NX-OS must become aware of the hardware available (for example, all the different interfaces on the switch). After the software is loaded, the NX-OS keeps track of some statistics related to the current operation of the switch, like the amount of time since the NX-OS was last loaded and the reason why the NX-OS was most recently loaded.
