Authentication Technologies

Authentication, authorization, and accounting (AAA) is an architectural framework for configuring a set of three independent security functions in a consistent manner. AAA provides a modular way of performing authentication, authorization, and accounting functions. Authentication enables user identification before granting access to the network and its resources. AAA authentication is defined by a named list of authentication methods and applying the same to different interfaces.
