• 8 routers with the following specifications (all routers are to be loaded with Cisco IOS Software Release 12.1(T) except for R5—see the following note):

  R1 — 2 Ethernet (with IP Plus image)

  R2 — 1 Ethernet, 1 BRI, 1 serial (with IP Plus + IOS Firewall image)

  R3 — 1 Ethernet, 1 serial (with IP Plus image)

  R4 — 1 Ethernet, 1 BRI, 5 serials (with IP Plus image)

  R5 — 1 Ethernet, 3 serials (with IP Plus + IPSec 56 image)

  NOTE

  R5 needs to be loaded with 12.2(11)T or higher and R2 with any latest 12.0 mainline available. This is due to some specific tasks in the exercises to follow.

  R6 — 1 Ethernet, 1 serial (with IP Plus + IPSec 56 image)

  R7 — 2 Ethernet, 1 ATM (with IP Plus image)

  R8 — 2 Ethernet, 1 ATM (with IP Plus image)
