4.1. Basic PIX Configuration

  1. Configure host name and IP addresses as defined.

  2. Configure RIP with MD5 on the outside interface as shown in Figure 4-3. See Example 4-22.

  3. Configure the default route for the inside network to Switch1 VLAN-10 IP address 172.16.1.10. See Example 4-24.

  4. Configure static NAT for CA server 172.16.3.254 to 140.52.0.254. See Example 4-23.

  5. Configure static NAT for Switch1 and Switch2 management interface 172.16.4.10 and 172.16.4.20, respectively. See Example 4-23.

  6. Configure static NAT for Loopback1 of R1 to 11.11.11.11. See Example 4-23.

  7. Configure a static NAT and ACL for a mail server with IP address 172.16.4.251 to 140.52.0.251. See Example 4-23.
