Configuring RIP

This section discusses the commands that are necessary to enable proper operation of RIP along with the concepts and issues that can arise as a result of certain implementation and configuration. The configuration tasks are divided into four major categories, as follows:

  • Basic RIP configuration

  • RIPv1 over router to PIX 5.2 connection

  • RIPv2 over router to PIX 6.2 connection with authentication

  • Advanced RIP configuration
