| A1: | Extended VLANS, those above 1005, are only supported when you are using the VTP transparent mode. |

| A2: | Although the 3550 does not support Token Ring or FDDI VLANs, if you are running VTP version 2, the 3550 can pass any Token Ring and FDDI VLAN information that it receives. |

| A3: | When you do this, you turn the Layer 2 interface, the switchport, into a Layer 3 interface. |
