Password Recovery on the Cisco Secure IDS Sensor

The username/password that comes on a Solaris-based Cisco Secure IDS Sensor appliance is netrangr/attack. If you changed the username/password from this default and you don't remember what it is, you have to perform password recovery. You can follow the procedure outlined in this section to accomplish this task.

Before you can start the password-recovery process, you need the following items:

  • The Solaris Device Configuration Assistant disk, or boot disk. If you do not currently have a copy of this diskette, you can download it from the Sun support website at soldc.sun.com/support/drivers/dca_diskettes/.

  • The Solaris for Intel (x86) CD-ROM

  • Console access to the workstation
