Replacing Software to Recover a Password
Some Cisco devices require you to replace the current software you have on the device with a special version of software. This special version of software erases the contents of NVRAM, so you do not have to enter a password to gain access to your device. By following these steps, you can recover your passwords on the Cisco Catalyst 5000 ATM module:
Step 1. | Download the special ATM recovery image (one such image is atm_911.gbi) and a copy of your original or the latest ATM module image. If your LANE module does not have an external console connection, you must perform this procedure through remote means, such as Telnet. |
