Discovering Routers with NDP RS and RA

NDP defines a matched pair of messages that let a host dynamically discover all potential default routers that sit on the same data link. Basically, the process works with the host multicasting a message asking “routers, tell me about yourselves,” and the routers reply. The messages are:

Router Solicitation (RS): Sent to the “all-IPv6-routers” local-scope multicast address of FF02::2, so that the message asks all routers, on the local link only, to identify themselves.
