Choosing the Best Summary Routes

Manual route summarization works best when the subnetting plan considered summarization in the first place. For example, the earlier examples with Figures 21-1 and 21-2 used a well-thought-out plan, with the engineers only using subnets beginning with 10.2 for subnets off R2 and subnets that begin with 10.3 for subnets off R3.
