Materials and Cathodic Protection Systems
Abstract
Cathodic Protection (CP) products and systems allow corrosion prevention in metal structures that are partially or completely buried or submerged. This chapter provides information on materials for various applications, such as impressed Current Anodes, Carbonaceous Backfill for Impressed Current Anodes, Galvanic Anodes for Underground Applications (Magnesium and Zinc) and Submerged Applications (Magnesium and Zinc), Bracelet Type Galvanic Anodes for Submarine Pipelines (Aluminum and Zinc), Cast Galvanic Anodes for Fixed Offshore Installations (Aluminum), and CP Cables.
