Stage 5: Improvement

In this chapter we will explore the fifth and final stage – the improvement stage. We will examine how implementation turns into improvement and how our focus needs to shift to supplier relationships and management. We will explore the category manager’s role to continue to work on the category and to monitor the ongoing effectiveness of the sourcing strategy now implemented, identifying when it is appropriate to revisit the category and perhaps even start the process again.
