The next big growth platform of ICICI Bank is globalization. Some time back, ICICI opened its first overseas branch in Singapore. It has also established representative offices at Dubai, Shanghai and New York. The bank is in the process of starting subsidiary offices at London and Toronto. This phase-1 global roll-out plan envisages a financial outlay of $100 million, all of which will be funded from the domestic operations of the bank. These two bank subsidiaries have been capitalized with $70 million. Similarly, as and when the bank plans to open new subsidiaries, it will have to provide for the necessary funds.
