Using Gateway Pages and Browser Sniffers

You can also use a gateway page to forewarn users of the browser requirements for viewing your page, or to provide a link to an alternative page that doesn't use styles. A gateway page is a page that provides an entrance to your site. The main problem with this approach is that you have to maintain three pages instead of one: the gateway page, the page using styles, and the page not using styles.

Another problem with this is that you can't compel users to only enter your page through your gateway page. Someone might post a link to your page using styles, which entirely bypasses your gateway page.
