MOOD SWINGS

To draw believable expressions and attitudes, try studying your own face in a mirror to see how your features change as you portray a variety of moods—then record what you see. The six faces below are the foundation for creating every expression you could ever imagine! The face in the middle is the “flat” face—blank and expressionless, it acts as the canvas upon which all other emotions are created. Circling this face are the five most common expressions that can be created simply by making adjustments to the foundation.
