The Intent of this Book
The goal of this book is to broaden the usage of a number of SAS programming tools and techniques. This is a very eclectic collection of ideas and tips that have been advanced over the years by any number of users. Some are quite advanced; however, most require only an intermediate understanding of the general concepts surrounding the tip. For instance if the technique involves the use of a double SET statement, you should have a decent understanding of the DATA step and how it is compiled and executed. Many of the techniques are even simple and are essentially suggestions along the lines of âDid you know that you can . . . .?â
