It all started in the late 1900s. When we started in this industry, digital was a very small piece of the pie. Magazines and newspapers were the primary source of news and information, billboards looked down over blocks in every major city, people still listened to the radio, and the only place to make a big splash was broadcast television. Those clients who did request digital were not asking for an interactive experience; rather, they just wanted web banners and pop-ups. (Ugh. We still shudder when we hear that term.) Every campaign started with the television spot (where the greatest impact was expected to be) and then flowed downhill through the various other mediums.
