Further enhancements
Some ideas for how to improve and enhance this project include the following:
- Support more than 24 shortcuts, perhaps adding multiple rows or an infinite scrolling mechanic
- Reuse images and text view objects; you only ever see a few at a time
- Currently, really long app labels will overlap, tweak your view code to make the text wrap, or introduce an ellipsis (...) when the label is too long
- Add a cylindrical background image (skybox)
- Alternative ways to highlight the current shortcut, perhaps with a glow, or move it closer by adjusting its parallax offset
- Add sounds and/or vibrations to enhance the experience and reinforce the selection feedback
