Appendix A. Custom Functions

Custom Functions enable you to customize camera controls and operation to better suit your shooting style and to save you time. Once you set a Custom Function option, it remains in effect until you change it. Some Custom Functions are useful for everyday shooting, while others are for specific situations. For example, C.Fn-2: Long exp. noise reduction detects noise in long-exposure images and takes a second image to subtract out noise from the image.

Note

Canon refers to Custom Functions by using the abbreviation C.Fn-[number].

The EOS Digital Rebel XTi/400D offers 11 Custom Functions. You should carefully evaluate each function before changing it.
