While I was in Japan in 1991, my friend Takehiro Hikita helped me to translate most of the following books. They were rich with market history, but my focus was on obtaining the various candle patterns and the details of their construction. Many cases were presented where the actual details were insufficient to develop the concept completely—keep in mind that much of this was done long before computers and basic technology were available. We strived to obtain patterns as close as possible with the information provided. Hikitasan had written about this a decade before, so his experience was invaluable.
