From the outset, there has been a theatrical theme running through the book: in particular, the notions of roles and their actors. Let’s round off the metaphor and see what it tells us about the world and how Riva helps us understand it and get our arms round it. We’ll leave it to our Tutor and Pupil to explore the idea.
