Human change management is the hardest thing to achieve because it isn’t objective. It’s easy to define project steps and build plans. It’s possible to get through the risk assessment with some rigor. It’s virtually impossible to figure out how everyone will respond to the news that their lives will be different. Consequently, many so-called professionals ignore the issue because they are unaware of the dangers or can’t deal with it. They just do the technical and procedural work instead. But you know by now that this can’t be omitted. It’s real work, and transitioned people are deliverables in and of themselves.
