Framework Traceability

The first principle of process management is that business change must be performance driven. This implies that all actions must be traceable back to the business reasons for the change. Figure 5.4 shows the relationships that the major capabilities must have with one another. You should always strive to connect from any concept on the page to the others. If you can’t trace to the others, you run a high risk of poor results. The Process Management Framework has been designed to support this traceability.

Figure 5.4 shows a simplified form of the framework’s traceability. In the following section, each phase is shown in much more detail. The purpose of the overall view is to show how the pieces fit together.
